Lakeland to host Open House at new Fox Cities location

51ĀŅĀ× will host an open house at its new Fox Cities Center location at Fox Valley Technical Collegeā€™s Appleton campus, 1825 N Bluemound Dr., from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on August 24.

At 5:30 p.m., Lakeland President Dr. Beth Borgen and FVTC President Dr. Chris Matheny will be part of a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially kick off the next chapter in this decades-long partnership.

Lakeland staff will be available throughout the day at the center, located inside FVTC Entrance 15, to provide a tour of LUā€™s new space. Staff can also discuss how Lakeland will continue to serve its students and make it easier for FVTC graduates to complete a bachelorā€™s or masterā€™s degree.

Snacks will be available throughout the day, and guests can enter to win a drawing for a free Lakeland class.

Lakeland re-located to the FVTC campus this summer in time for classes this fall.

ā€œFox Valley Technical College is our top transfer partner, which is one of many reasons why this move makes sense,ā€ said Lakeland President Beth Borgen, noting that Lakeland has offered classes in the Fox Cities since 1982. ā€œFor many of our students, theyā€™ll be able to continue on the pathway to a bachelorā€™s degree at a campus that already feels like home.ā€

Lakeland offers more than a dozen bachelorā€™s degree programs and four masterā€™s degree programs in the Fox Cities. Many degrees and classes are available online or through Lakelandā€™s popular and innovative BlendEdĀ® format, which allows students to decide week-to-week if they want to attend class in person or online.

Lakelandā€™s Kellett School of Undergraduate & Graduate Studies was created in 1978 when Lakeland developed what was the stateā€™s first evening degree-completion program for working adults. The program was based on the vision of prominent Wisconsin business leader and former Lakeland Trustee William R. Kellett.

Since its creation, Lakeland has seen thousands of adults earn baccalaureate and graduate degrees. Lakeland also has centers in Chippewa Falls, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Rapids and on Lakelandā€™s main campus in Sheboygan County.
