Lakeland preparing for 162nd Commencement

51ĀŅĀ× will award degrees to more than 500 students this Saturday, May 11, at the institutionā€™s 162nd commencement.

Lakeland will award degrees to 508 students as part of the ceremony, including 344 undergraduates and 164 graduate students. LU is holding three in-person ceremonies in the Wehr Center on Lakelandā€™s main campus:

  • 10 a.m. ā€“ Masterā€™s degree ceremony.
  • 1 p.m. ā€“ Kellett School undergraduate ceremony.
  • 4 p.m. ā€“ Traditional undergraduate ceremony.

Each ceremony can be watched live at . The ceremonies will also be recorded for on-demand viewing at the same link beginning later on May 11.

Students getting degrees Saturday took classes at Lakelandā€™s main campus in Sheboygan County, through its six centers located throughout Wisconsin and/or through online programming.

Speakers at the three ceremonies are:

  • 10 a.m.: Michael Grubich, president & managing partner at LAK Group.
  • 1 p.m.: Natasha Torry, Sheboygan County circuit court judge, branch 2.
  • 4 p.m.: Jeff Frank, artistic director of First Stage.

All three speakers will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from LU.
